Day 1
Fly from UK airport to Delhi
- Welcome to Delhi! Following customs, immigration formalities and baggage collection, our representative will meet you as you exit the arrival terminal building, after which you will be transferred to your hotel for 01 night stay. Check-in at 1400 hrs
Day 2
Morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, followed by a private transfer from Delhi to Agra.
- Old Delhi is the 300-year-old walled city built by Emperor Shah Jehan in 1648 as his capital and named after him. Visit the magnificent Red Fort (closed on Monday) built of red sandstone. Opposite the fort are the black and white onion dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. Afternoon: You will be driven to Agra (approx. 205 km / 5 hrs) Agra The city of Agra is globally renowned as the home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World - the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendour of the mausoleums and forts in Agra is a vivid reminder of the opulence of the legendary Mughal Empire. A pleasant town, with a comparatively easy pace, Agra is known for its superb inlay work on marble and soapstone by artisans who are hereditary craft persons. The city is also famous for gold embroidery. Morning : Sightseeing tour of Agra Visit Taj Mahal, referred to as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal is the epitome of love, built in white marble by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The monument was commissioned in 1631 and took 20,000 artisans 22 years to complete. Agra Fort An imposing structure with walls of red sandstone, originally planned as an impregnable military structure by Akbar. It has, over a period of time, acquired all the elegance, lavishness and majesty of an imperial palace
