Day 1
Fly from UK airport to Bari & Stay
- Depart from the UK on your scheduled flight to Bari. On arrival, collect your hire car from Bari Airport and drive to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring Bari’s atmospheric Old Town (Bari Vecchia), stroll along the seafront promenade or enjoy your first taste of authentic Puglian cuisine. Overnight in Bari

Bari
- Today is free to explore Bari at leisure. Visit the Basilica of San Nicola, an important pilgrimage site, and the Swabian Castle, offering insight into the city’s medieval past. Relax at one of the cafés along the waterfront or take an optional day trip to nearby coastal towns. Overnight stay in Bari.
Day 3
Bari ➝ Matera
- After breakfast, drive inland to Matera (approx. 1 hour), one of Italy’s most unique destinations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the remarkable Sassi di Matera, ancient cave dwellings carved into limestone rock. Walk through dramatic ravines, visit rock churches and enjoy breathtaking viewpoints over the old town. Overnight stay in Matera.
Day 4
Matera ➝ Alberobello
- Depart Matera and continue your scenic drive to Alberobello (approx. 1.5 hours). This fairytale town is famous for its iconic Trulli houses, with their whitewashed walls and cone-shaped roofs. Wander through the Trulli districts of Rione Monti and Aia Piccola, and browse charming souvenir shops and cafés. Overnight stay in Alberobello.
Day 5
Alberobello ➝ Ostuni
- Drive onward to Ostuni (approx. 45 minutes), known as “The White City” for its dazzling hilltop buildings. Explore the winding streets of the historic centre, admire panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and visit the cathedral. Spend the afternoon relaxing or head down to the coast for some beach time. Overnight stay in Ostuni.

Ostuni ➝ Lecce
- After breakfast, travel south to Lecce (approx. 1.5 hours), often referred to as the “Florence of the South.” Discover its stunning Baroque architecture, including the Basilica di Santa Croce and elegant piazzas. Enjoy Lecce’s lively atmosphere, boutique shopping and excellent local cuisine. Overnight stay in Lecce.
