Your first destination is Zakopane. Poland’s most fashionable mountain resort. It’s an excellent base for hiking in summer and skiing in winter, though in high season it can get positively overrun with visitors. This beautiful resort is nestled in the foothills of the Tatras. Next you'll take the train to Warsaw. The Polish capital beckons travellers with UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the Old Town historic centre scattered with colourful burgher houses and churches, chief among which being the Gothic St. John the Baptist’s Cathedral. Medieval landmarks are ideally balanced by contemporary attractions, such as the Multimedia Fountain Park, housing music festivals and themed shows.
