Summary
Your nine day tour of the spice lands of Kerala begins in Cochin, also affectionately known as The Queen of the Arabian Sea. With its expansive harbour and eclectic mix of oriental and European influences, it’s a charming city to begin your adventure in.
Your tour will also pass through Thekkady, Kumarakom and Alleppey before finishing with two days in the stylish seaside village of Kovalam. As you make your way through some of Indian’s most beautiful scenery, you’ll be treated to visits to spice plantations, a wildlife reserve, a cruise & stay on a traditional houseboat, sheltered beaches and so much more.
The authentic spices produced in this region are renowned all over the world for their intense flavour, delightful aromas and striking colours. The trip will teach you how these spices have been grown and cultivated for generations. Itinerary
Day 1
- Welcome to Cochin!!! Our Representative will meet you as you exit the arrival terminal building, after which you will be transfer to hotel for 02 nights' stay
Day 2
COCHIN
- Morning: Sightseeing tour of Cochin Visit Portuguese-built Mattancherry Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue (closed on Friday, Saturday Jewish holidays) and Fort Cochin area. Later visit, St Francis Church (closed on Sunday during mass), which holds the palm-leafed title deed that the Raja handed to the occupying Portuguese in 1503.Following sightseeing tour, return back to hotel. Evening: Witness Kathakali classical dance performance at a local theatre (from1730 hrs to 1930 hrs).
Day 3
Private shared transfers from Cochin to Thekkady
- Morning: You will be driven to Thekkady (Approx 195 Kms / 5 hrs) Afternoon: Arrive Thekkady, check in at hotel for 01 night stay Late Afternoon: Witness a Kalaripayatu Performance at a local theatre It is believed to be perhaps the most ancient martial art form
Day 4
Private shared transfers from Thekkady to Kumarakom
- Morning: You will be driven to Kumarakom (Approx 140 Kms / 4 hrs) enroute visit Spice Plantation. Spice plantation tour where you will be enticed by not only the aroma of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, pepper and nutmeg but will also get to know how they are grown, harvested and processed before they reach the supermarkets.

Private shared transfers from Kumarakom to Alleppey
- LateMorning: You will be driven to Alleppey (Approx 38 Kms / 1 hrs) Afternoon: Arrive Alleppey, embark on the houseboat for 01 night stay Today you spend the night for an enchanting backwaters boat cruise. As your houseboat drifts along the shady canals, appreciate the scenic beauty, enjoy authentic local food, watch the villagers go about their local daily chores and marvel at the beauty of the backwaters. Lunch on houseboat. Rest of the day at leisure on houseboat (No vehicle at disposal). Dinner on houseboat Overnight at Houseboat Alleppey Deluxe House Boat
Day 6
Private shared transfers from Alleppey to Kovalam
- Morning: Disembark the Houseboat at Alleppey Jetty and you will driven to beach town of Kovalam (Approx 170 Kms / 05 hrs) Afternoon: Arrive Kovalam, check in at hotel for 03 night's stay
Day 7
KOVALAM
- Morning Enjoy an excursion to the Padmanabhapuram Palace (closed onMonday),which is located in a small village called Padmanabhapuram, at a distance of 65 kilometres from Trivandrum. A magnificent wooden palace of the Rajas of the erstwhile Travancore (1550 to 1750 AD), this is a fine specimen of Kerala's indigenous style of architecture. Following sightseeing tour, return back to hotel Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities (No vehicle at disposal)

KOVALAM
- Full day at leisure for independent activities (No vehicle at disposal)
Day 9
Fly from Kovalam to UK airport
- After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
